#40 Finding your next product marketing fit
Because the best product marketing jobs aren’t on LinkedIn anymore.
The best PMM opportunities aren’t found on the big job boards, they’re hiding in niche communities and curated platforms. Let me tell you more (!!!)
So today, I’m breaking down 7 underrated job boards every PMM should know, plus three strategies to get ahead of hundreds of applicants.
Let’s jump in. ↓
1. Product Marketing Alliance
If you want vetted, high-quality SaaS roles — especially mid-to-senior level — PMA is the place. The jobs here are legit, the companies are strong, and the roles tend to be more strategic.
Best for: PMMs looking for their next big career move at established SaaS companies.
2. Product HQ
This one is ideal if you’re earlier in your PMM journey. Product HQ features tech and SaaS roles ranging from entry to mid-level, and bonus: they have a strong community and educational content.
Best for: Junior-to-mid PMMs building experience or moving into tech.
3. Mind the Product
A classic in the product world.
Mind the Product features roles across product and product marketing — often at global companies with mature product teams. If you’re open to hybrid roles, this is a great place to browse.
Best for: PMMs exploring product-adjacent roles or global opportunities.
Part job board, part knowledge hub.
Sharebird’s community-first approach means PMMs often post job updates or upcoming roles before companies make them public. If you like getting early access, this is a gem.
Best for: Tapping into unlisted roles and networking directly with PMMs.
5. Lenny’s Jobs
If you follow Lenny Rachitsky, you already know his newsletter is gold. His job board is no different — curated, quality startup + growth-stage opportunities with real PMM influence.
Best for: PMMs who want fast-moving, high-impact startup roles.
6. Productive PMM
A newer but incredibly valuable board — this platform focuses on founding PMM roles curated by product marketing experts. If you’ve ever wanted to build PMM function from scratch, start here.
Best for: PMMs who thrive in 0→1 environments and cross-functional chaos (the good kind).
7. TopStartups.io
This is where you’ll find the early-stage startups that don’t always bother posting on LinkedIn. Think: pre-seed to Series B, lots of autonomy, lots of responsibility.
Best for: PMMs who want to get in early, grow fast, and wear all the hats.
Finding the right PMM role gets 10x easier when you change how you search.
Here are three ways to outpace 90% of applicants:
1. Be first in line
Set a recurring calendar check — Monday and Thursday work best.
Search using this exact string:
“product marketing” OR “PMM”
And only look at roles posted in the past 48 hours.
New postings = fewer applicants = better odds.
2. Go beyond the listing
Found a role you like?
Before applying, check who leads marketing or product at the company on LinkedIn.
Why?
Because hiring updates often drop in their posts before they hit job boards.
Engage with their content. Follow them. Build visibility.
3. Use community intel
Join the Slack groups, Discord channels, or newsletter communities attached to these platforms (I recommend joining the PMA Slack, they post job openings daily!).
You’ll often see:
Unlisted jobs
“We’re hiring soon” posts
Direct referrals
Peer introductions
Some of the best PMM roles never make it to a public listing.
→ Your next PMM role won’t come from applying to more jobs — it’ll come from applying to better ones!
