#54 Let's talk about Ramp

No one’s marketing is this bold right now, it's time we talk about Ramp.

I’m gonna get a little nerdy here but Ramp - yes, the fintech startup - has been pulling all forms of tricks lately and I thought I’d talk about it here.

Take the Super Bowl: they rolled out SF cars plastered with Ramp branding, zooming around the city, impossible to miss.

Then there was the Kevin from Silicon Valley stunt, trapped in a glass “accountant room” at an event: part theater, part marketing, all memorable. You couldn’t scroll past it without taking notice.

And it didn’t stop there. Their website literally features Kevin, making even a corporate card product feel like it has a personality. Meanwhile, billboards, events, branded cars…they’ve made Ramp unavoidable. Every touchpoint reinforces the same message: Ramp is smart, fun, and everywhere your CFO dreams of.

Why it works:

  • Consistency at scale: every ad, every stunt, every page of the website is unmistakably Ramp.

  • Cultural hooks: Kevin isn’t just a celebrity; he’s a symbol. The accountant archetype becomes Ramp itself.

  • Boldness: most fintechs whisper; Ramp shouts, winks, and shows up where you least expect it.

Fintech marketing usually feels invisible. Ramp proves you can be clever and omnipresent without feeling spammy. And honestly… it’s quite refreshing in the startup scene.
